KFC Digital

Less between hungry and fed.

KFC Digital / In practice

On a phone, at a kiosk or in a browser, ordering should feel familiar. We worked across the customer experience and the engineering underneath it to make that happen.

Our roleProduct direction, app design, checkout engineering and a shared component system across KFC mobile, web and kiosks.

The ordering experience

Make the next order easier.

Too many steps, inconsistent journeys and reliability problems got in the way. Our work focused on quicker repeat orders, simpler meal customisation and a coherent path through checkout across channels, including work in European markets.

Shared foundations

Three channels. A common language.

Menus, baskets, loyalty and payments belong to the same ordering experience. A shared component system brings consistency to the interfaces while the services underneath support the journey from choosing food to completing an order.

Behind the kiosk

Build for the order that fails, too.

We shipped the separation of the kiosk application from its hardware shell. The development environment made success and failure explicit: simulate an order succeeding, simulate it failing, or use the real API. Reliability was part of the product work, alongside the screens customers saw.
